Republican State Representative Sally Kern (HD-84) hasn't wasted any time in furthering her agenda to eliminate women's reproductive rights.
Earlier this week she filed House Bill 1004 that amends an existing law that requires that only licensed physicians perform abortions in Oklahoma. Her addition would further require these physicians
"to have clinical privileges at a hospital which obstetrical or gynecological care located within thirty (30) miles of the location at which the abortion is performed or induced."
Violation of this new restriction would be a felony.
This change in law is designed to force clinics in Oklahoma to shut down, by making the common practice of using out of state doctors who are licensed in Oklahoma, illegal.
Representative Kern ran unopposed in the General Election Nov 7. Her district is in NW Oklahoma City.
